Apparently I write like Steven King:
At least for the novel I've been working on. Which is, I suspect, a large part of the problem I'm having completing it since I don't actually like Steven King's writing style.
The one fanfic I've written has been in the Harry Potter fandom. For that story I write like J.K. Rowling, which is actually kind of nice, even though I suspect it's recognizing names and slanting things from that.
I wrote like Stephen King too. I think the issue is word choice. I do purposely simplify my language if I ever start getting overly flowery in my descriptives, which is what I think King does. I don't know if I've read your WIP, but I think you also tend to avoid the flowery language.
